High-performance multi-objective optimization in parallel and distributed architectures and their use in real applications. Parallel evolutionary procedures evolving concurrent subpopulations in parallel and distributed platforms with high communication latencies will be developed, and issues related to the efficient searching space distribution among subpopulations, the use of asynchronous communications for hiding the communication latencies, and the tolerance to node failures will be considered.
Parallel Multi-objective approaches to clustering for feature selection in the project applications
Development of applications on neuroengineering and rehabilitation technologies that take advantage of multi-objective optimization and clustering, and need hardware/software specific systems and the continuous monitoring of biosignals: evaluation of rehabilitation exercises; care of epileptic patients, persons with attention problems, or persons with severe motion disabilities that impede communication with other persons.
